This conference will explore the use of three-dimensional (3D) cell culture for drug screening and projects involving cell therapy. A 3D cell culture is an artificial environment in which biological cells are allowed to grow and interact with their surroundings in all three dimensions. The discussion will also include advances in organs-on-chips which are three-dimensional microfluidic cell culture chips that mimic the physiological response of entire organs to disease. The chips are a tool for modelling disease and identifying targets for new therapies.
