The Pharming Group NV has appointed Rienk Pijpstra as its chief medical officer effective 1 April 2010. In this role he will be responsible for the clinical development of the company’s products as well as drug safety, medical information and regulatory affairs. Dr Pijpstra joined Pharming in 2009 having previously worked in senior positions at Eli Lilly and Company, GlaxoSmithKline Plc and Basilea SA. He received his MD and masters of business administration degree from Leuven University in Belgium.
