Paul Scagnetti, most recently an executive at Illumina Inc, has become chief executive of Oxford Nanoimaging Ltd, a 2016 spin-out of Oxford University. Also referred to as ONI, the company is developing microscopy technology enabling scientists to observe single molecules in living cells. At Illumina, Dr Scagnetti was head of corporate and business development. Prior to this he was head of the science business group at FEI Company, a producer of microscope technology. He holds a PhD in mechanical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, US.
