Oxford BioMedica appoints James Christie to head manufacturing

Oxford BioMedica Plc has appointed James Christie to the newly created post of head of manufacturing. This follows its recent acquisition of a manufacturing facility in Oxford, UK to produce lentiviral vector delivery systems for its gene therapy products.

Mr Christie has long experience with the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries having worked at GlaxoSmithKline Plc, Celltech Group Plc and Centocor BV before joining Therapeutic Antibodies Inc in 1998. Through a series of mergers, Therapeutic Antibodies eventually became part of BTG Plc. Mr Christie’s most recent appointment was with BTG as operations director.
