The directors of Actelion Ltd, the Swiss biopharmaceutical company, have appointed the former chief executive of GlaxoSmithKline, Jean-Pierre Garnier, as chairman.
Dr Garnier is a director of several other companies, including United Technologies Corp and Renault SA.
