The venture capital group, SV Life Sciences, has appointed Heiner Dreismann as a partner and member of the group’s biotechnology team with responsibility for investments in medical diagnostics. Dr Dreismann is a former president and CEO of Roche Molecular Systems and a former member of that company’s global diagnostic executive committee. He earned a master of science in biology and a doctor of philosophy in microbiology and molecular biology from the Westfaelische Wilhelms University in Muenster, Germany. He is a pioneer in the early adoption of the polymerase chain reaction technology to amplify DNA.
