FDA names Lou Valdez to help run international programs

The US Food and Drug Administration has appointed Lou Valdez, a public health expert, as associate commissioner for international programs. In this role, she will help manage the agency’s international programs, which include relationships with regulatory agencies outside the US. Ms Valdez previously served as deputy director of the Department of Health and Human Service’s Office of Global Health Affairs. Ms Valdez is a graduate of the University of Texas at El Paso and holds a Master of Science degree in management from the University of Maryland University College.
