The UK Department of Health has appointed Diana Sternfeld, a partner at the law firm Rouse, to an advisory body that looks at developments in bioscience and its impact on health. The panel was created in May 2012 and is called the Emerging Science and Bioethics Advisory Committee. Ms Sternfeld is an ex officio member nominated by the BioIndustry Association. Members of the committee have expertise in legal, medical, social, ethical and commercial issues.
Rouse announced the appointment on 21 June 2012.
