France Biotech, the French association for life science entrepreneurs, has appointed André Choulika as its new chairman, succeeding Philippe Pouletty, who is stepping down after completing four terms in office.

Mr Choulika is the chief executive officer and founder of Cellectis SA, a genome engineering company that was established in 2000. He received a PhD in molecular virology from the Pierre and Marie Curie University in Paris and also undertook post-doctoral studies at the Harvard Medical School within the department of molecular medicine at the Boston Children’s Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts, US.
