Wilex appoints Walter Carney as CSO

Wilex Inc, the US subsidiary of Wilex AG, has appointed Walter Carney as its chief scientific officer. He will report to the group chief executive Olaf Wilhelm. Dr Carney is currently assistant clinical professor in the Department of Pathology at the Tufts Medical Center in Boston. He was previously chief executive of Oncogene Science, a developer of oncology biomarker assays. He subsequently joined On-Q-ity Inc. Wilex acquired Oncogene Science from Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics in 2010. Dr Carney will help Wilex develop its personalised medicine strategy.
