Ulf Jönsson, a co-founder and former chief executive of Biacore AB, has joined PharmaDiagnostics NV in Belgium as a non-executive director.

In this position he will assist the company grow its assay business. The Belgian company develops label-free screening technology with applications for antibody screening and receptor-ligand binding, among other things.

Mr Jönsson was chief executive of Biacore, which is now part of GE Healthcare, until 2004 after which he became CEO of Cellectricon AB, a start-up company focusing on products for cell biology research. He subsequently became an independent science and technology adviser and a non-executive director at a number of European companies.
