Simon Russell appointed chief business officer at Creabilis

Creabilis SA of Luxembourg has appointed Simon Russell, a former Novartis executive, as its chief business officer with a remit to commercialise the company’s treatments for dermatology, inflammation and pain. Dr Russell was previously head of global marketing at Novartis for the antibody drug, canakinumab. Prior to this, he was global brand strategy director for biologics at AstraZeneca Plc. Dr Russell has a PhD in organic chemistry from Southampton University and an MA in chemistry from the University of Oxford. He is a member of the Royal Society of Chemistry.

Creabilis announced the appointment on 3 May 2012.
