Simon Moroney, the co-founder and chief executive officer of MorphoSys AG has been awarded a medal for outstanding service from the state of Bavaria in Germany. The award is for his contribution to the Bavarian biotechnology sector and to the Bavarian economy. Founded in 1992, MorphoSys has developed proprietary technology for generating fully human antibodies for research and therapeutic use. Through partnerships with large pharmaceutical companies, it has generated a pipeline of more than 60 antibody drug candidates.
