Reinhard Kandera has been appointed chief financial officer of Hookipa Biotech AG of Austria which is developing immunotherapies for cancer and infectious diseases. He will also be joining the company’s management board effective 1 June. Dr Kandera was previously CFO of Valneva SE of France and of Intercell AG, a former vaccine company which is now part of Valneva. The executive started his career in finance at Deutsche Bank AG.
Dr Kandera holds doctorate degrees in business administration and in law from the Vienna University of Economics and Business, and the Vienna University’s Faculty of Law.
