Jim Cornett to head US unit of Oxford BioTherapeutics

Oxford BioTherapeutics Ltd has announced the appointment of Jim Cornett, a former executive with Medarex, to lead its US research and development facility in the California Bay area near San Jose.

Dr Cornett, who has been named chief operating officer of the US unit, has worked for many years developing monoclonal antibodies for use as human therapeutics. At Medarex, now part of Bristol-Myers Squibb, he was vice president of business development. Also joining the US unit is Jon Terrett, a former Medarex scientist, who has been named vice president for oncology. Based in Oxford, UK, Oxford BioTherapeutics is developing antibody therapeutics for cancer.
