Jan van Heek appointed non-executive director at Amarin

Amarin Corporation Plc has appointed the biotechnology industry consultant, Jan van Heek, to its board of directors as a non-executive director where he will chair the company’s audit committee.

Mr van Heek is currently principal and partner at the advisory group, BioPoint Group. Prior to establishing BioPoint, Mr van Heek spent more than 18 years at Genzyme Corporation, most recently as senior advisor to the chief executive and the senior management team. Previous to that, he was a manager at Baxter Healthcare Corporation in Europe and the US. He holds an MBA from St Gallen University in Switzerland and an Executive Degree from the Stanford Business School in California.
