Barbara Freischem, a veterinary medicine expert with experience in antimicrobial resistance, has been appointed executive director of the Brussels-based European Biopharmaceutical Enterprises (EBE). Ms Freischem currently works in the scientific and technical department of the World Organisation for Animal Health in Paris. She will take up her new position on 29 June.
She has previously worked for the German registration authority for veterinary medicines as well as for the European Medicines Agency where her oversight duties included pharmacovigilance.
The EBE announced the appointment on 24 March 2015.
