Christian Lajoux has been appointed president of sanofi-aventis, France, after having previously been head of pharmaceutical operations in that country. Mr Lajoux is a member of the company’s group management committee reporting to the sanofi-aventis executive vice president, Hanspeter Spek. He joined the company in 1993 having previously worked at the Sandoz Group, which is now part of Novartis.

Mr Lajoux has been president of the French Pharmaceutical Companies Association since 2006. He is an officer of the French Légion d’Honneur.
