Anne Beal, a pediatrician and public health specialist, has been appointed to the newly created position of chief patient officer at Sanofi SA with responsibility for elevating the patient perspective within the work of the company. Dr Beal joins Sanofi from the Patient Centered Outcomes Research Institute of the US where she was deputy executive director. She has also been president of the Aetna Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Aetna Inc. Dr Beal holds a BA from Brown University, an MD from Cornell University Medical College, and an MPH from Columbia University.
Sanofi announced the appointment on 31 March 2014.
